EZPass Georgia: Peach Pass Tolls, Rates, and Account Setup

EZPass Georgia searches lead most drivers to Peach Pass, the official toll transponder for the state of Georgia. Peach Pass lets you pay tolls on Georgia express lanes and crossings without stopping at a booth. Drivers from other states who carry E-ZPass often want to know if their tag works on Georgia roads. This page covers Peach Pass costs, sign-up steps, account login help, reload rules, toll rates, discount programs, customer service contacts, and full details on Peach Pass and E-ZPass interoperability. Read every section to get all the facts you need before opening your account or driving a Georgia express lane for the first time.

EZPass Georgia

What Is Peach Pass and How Does It Connect to EZPass Georgia?

Peach Pass is an electronic toll transponder used in Georgia. The tag mounts on your car. It talks to overhead sensors on toll lanes. Those sensors charge your Peach Pass account each time you drive through. You do not need to stop or pay cash.

Peach Pass vs EZPass: The Main Difference

EZPass is a toll system used by more than 19 states on the East Coast and Midwest. Georgia does not issue EZPass tags. Georgia issues Peach Pass tags. Both tags serve the same job. Both tags read at toll points and charge a pre-paid account. The main difference is the brand and the issuing agency. Peach Pass comes from the State Road and Tollway Authority in Atlanta. EZPass comes from a group of states that share one system.

Who Runs the Peach Pass System

The State Road and Tollway Authority, also called SRTA, runs Peach Pass in Georgia. SRTA is a state government agency based in downtown Atlanta. SRTA handles account setup, billing, customer service, and tag shipping. SRTA also sets toll prices on the I-75 South Metro and I-85 express lanes around Atlanta.

Why Georgia Uses Peach Pass Instead of EZPass

Georgia built its express lane network in the 2010s. State leaders chose a separate system at that time. The choice let Georgia set its own toll rates and discount rules. Peach Pass now joins three states under one program: Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. Drivers from each state can use their home tag on the others’ toll roads.

Types of Peach Pass Transponders Available

Peach Pass offers more than one transponder style. Each style costs a different amount. Each style mounts on a different part of your car.

Types of Peach Pass Transponders

Sticker Tag vs Hard Tag vs Bumper-Mounted Transponder

Three transponder styles are sold by Peach Pass. The sticker tag is a flat, thin device. You stick it on your windshield behind the rearview mirror. The hard tag is a small plastic box. You mount it on your windshield with suction cups or adhesive strips. The bumper-mounted transponder is a hard plastic case. You bolt it to the front license plate area of vehicles that block the windshield, like semi trucks and RVs with metal windshields.

Which Transponder Works Best for Your Vehicle

Most cars and SUVs use the sticker tag. The sticker is small and low-cost. It works through windshields that do not have metal oxide coatings. Some windshields block sticker signals. If your car has such a windshield, pick the hard tag. Trucks, RVs, and trailers should pick the bumper-mounted unit. You can change your tag type at any time by calling Peach Pass customer service.

Peach Pass Cost: What You Pay Upfront

Peach Pass costs include the tag fee and an opening balance. The opening balance pays for your first tolls. No monthly fee applies for standard accounts.

Peach Pass Sticker Tag Price

The Peach Pass sticker tag costs $14.95 as of the latest published rate. The sticker ships to your home after you sign up online or by phone. You also pay $20.00 to open your account. That $20.00 stays in your account as a balance for future tolls. The tag itself is a one-time fee.

Peach Pass Hard Tag Price

The Peach Pass hard tag costs $17.95 as of the latest published rate. The hard tag ships from SRTA in a few business days. Like the sticker, you pay $20.00 to open your account. The hard tag is a one-time fee for tag purchase. You keep the tag as long as your account stays open.

Peach Pass Monthly Fee

Peach Pass charges no monthly fee for standard personal accounts. Your only costs are the tag itself, the opening balance, and the tolls you incur. There is no annual renewal fee for the sticker or hard tag. Some commercial fleets may face a different fee schedule under their contract.

Peach Pass Account Refill Requirements

Each Peach Pass account must keep a minimum balance at all times. The minimum balance for a standard account is $10.00. If your balance drops below $10.00, Peach Pass charges your saved payment method to bring the balance back up. You choose the refill amount: $20, $30, $50, or another option. You can change this amount anytime in your online account.

How to Apply for Peach Pass

Peach Pass application can be done three ways. You can apply online, by phone, or in person at a service center.

Apply for Peach Pass

Online Application Steps

The fastest way to apply is through the Peach Pass website. Start by visiting www.peachpass.com and clicking “Sign Up Now.” You enter your name, mailing address, email, phone number, and driver license number. You add each vehicle by license plate, make, model, and year. You pick a tag type. You add a credit card, debit card, or bank account for toll charges. You submit the form. Your tag arrives in the mail within five to seven business days.

Phone Application

You can apply by calling the Peach Pass customer service line at 1-855-PCH-PASS (1-855-724-7277). A representative walks you through the same form fields. The rep confirms your tag type and ships it to your address. Phone applications take about ten to fifteen minutes.

In-Person Application Locations

Peach Pass has service centers around metro Atlanta. You can walk in, sign up, and leave with a hard tag that day. The main office is at 47 Trinity Avenue SW in Atlanta. Other retail partners also sell Peach Pass in stores across the metro area. Call ahead for hours and stock.

Documents You Need to Apply

To apply, you need a valid driver license, a license plate number for each vehicle, and a payment method. The driver license proves your identity and matches the account holder. The license plate links each vehicle to the tag. The payment method covers tolls and refill charges.

Peach Pass Account Login and Online Portal

After you sign up, you get a username and password for the Peach Pass online portal. The portal handles every part of your account.

Registering for an Online Account

Your online account activates as soon as you finish the application. Peach Pass emails you a link to set your password. Click the link, set a strong password, and log in at www.peachpass.com. The first login lets you review your tag type, vehicles, and payment methods.

Managing Statements Through the Portal

The portal shows every toll charged in the past 12 months. You can view monthly statements. You can download PDF copies of each statement for taxes or record keeping. You can print a single toll, a month of tolls, or a full year of tolls.

Updating Vehicle and Payment Details

You can add a vehicle, remove a vehicle, or change a license plate from the portal. You can also change your credit card, debit card, or bank account for refills. Updates take effect within minutes for most fields. Plate changes may take up to 24 hours to apply across all toll points.

Peach Pass Reload Options

Peach Pass accounts reload in two main ways. You choose automatic reload or manual reload.

Automatic Reload With a Credit Card or Bank Account

Automatic reload is the default choice for most Peach Pass accounts. You set a refill amount and a refill trigger. The trigger is the balance level that prompts a refill. For example, you may set a $50.00 refill when your balance drops below $20.00. Peach Pass then charges your saved payment method and adds the refill to your account. Refills happen 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Manual Reload Methods

You can reload manually through the online portal, the Peach Pass mobile app, or by calling customer service. Manual reloads use the same payment methods as automatic refills. A manual reload adds the chosen amount to your balance right away. Manual reloads are useful when you want full control over charges.

Minimum Balance Rules

Each account must keep a balance of at least $10.00 at all times. If your balance falls below this floor and no payment method is on file, Peach Pass will flag your account. The tag still reads at toll points, but unpaid tolls start to count as violations.

Peach Pass Toll Rates on Georgia Express Lanes

Peach Pass toll rates change based on traffic. This is called dynamic pricing. Higher traffic brings higher tolls. Lower traffic brings lower tolls.

I-85 Express Lanes Atlanta

The I-85 Express Lanes run along Interstate 85 from Old Peachtree Road in Gwinnett County to just north of downtown Atlanta. The lanes cover about 16 miles. Toll prices range from $0.50 to $6.00 or more, depending on time of day. The price on the overhead sign is the price you pay when you enter the lane at that moment.

I-75 South Metro Express Lanes

The I-75 South Metro Express Lanes run along Interstate 75 from Stockbridge to McDonough in Henry County. The lanes cover about 12 miles. Toll prices range from $0.50 to $5.00 or more, depending on traffic. The price also changes based on direction during morning and evening rush hours.

How Dynamic Pricing Works

Dynamic pricing uses sensors that count cars in the express lane and the regular lanes. As traffic builds, the price goes up to keep the express lane moving. As traffic drops, the price goes down. The goal is to keep the lane moving at 45 mph or faster most of the time. Prices update every few minutes.

Peak vs Off-Peak Rates

Peak hours cost the most. On the I-85 Express Lanes, peak hours run from about 6:45 AM to 9:45 AM and 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM on weekdays. Off-peak rates apply overnight and on weekends. Some drivers save 50% or more by waiting to drive in off-peak hours.

Peach Pass Discounts and Savings

Peach Pass offers a few discount programs. Some discounts apply to certain vehicle types. Other discounts apply to certain commute patterns.

Three-State Discount Program

Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina share one toll program called the interoperable program. Drivers in this program pay the local toll rate in each state. There is no extra fee for using your Peach Pass in Florida or North Carolina. The same applies to drivers from those two states using their tags in Georgia.

Carpool and Motorcycle Discounts

Peach Pass carpool rules let you ride free in the express lane under certain conditions. You must have three or more people in the car, or you must be on a motorcycle. You must set your Peach Pass to “HOV mode” by flipping the switch on your hard tag. Without the switch, you pay the toll even if you have multiple riders.

Public Transit and Vanpool Discounts

Public transit buses ride free in Peach Pass lanes. Registered vanpools also ride free. The vanpool operator must register with SRTA and get a special Peach Pass setting for the vehicle. Contact Peach Pass customer service for the vanpool application.

Peach Pass States Accepted

Peach Pass works in Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. It also works on many EZPass roads through the multi-state interoperability program.

Georgia Express Lanes and Bridges

Peach Pass works on every Peach Pass-accepting road in Georgia. That includes the I-85 Express Lanes, the I-75 South Metro Express Lanes, and the future I-285 express lanes. Peach Pass also works on the I-75/I-575 Northwest Corridor Express Lanes in Cobb and Cherokee counties.

Florida (SunPass) Compatibility

Peach Pass works on Florida toll roads that accept SunPass. This covers most of Florida’s toll network, including the Turnpike, express lanes in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando, and bridges in the Keys. Drivers pay the Florida toll rate.

North Carolina (NC Quick Pass) Compatibility

Peach Pass works on North Carolina express lanes that accept NC Quick Pass. This covers the I-77 Express Lanes near Charlotte and Triangle Expressway around Raleigh. Drivers pay the North Carolina toll rate.

EZPass States Through Interstate Compatibility

Peach Pass works on most EZPass roads through the Hub Provider model. Drivers from Peach Pass can use their tag on toll roads in states like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and many others. The toll posts to your Peach Pass account at the local rate. Some private toll roads may not accept Peach Pass.

EZPass and Peach Pass Interoperability

Many drivers ask if they can use their EZPass in Georgia. The answer depends on the type of EZPass tag and the road they want to use.

Can You Use Your EZPass in Georgia?

Most EZPass tags from other states work on Georgia express lanes. EZPass has joined the same multi-state program as Peach Pass. When you drive a Georgia express lane with your EZPass, the toll posts to your EZPass account at the Georgia rate. No extra setup is needed for most EZPass users.

Which States Accept Peach Pass?

Peach Pass works in Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina as part of the three-state program. Peach Pass also works on EZPass roads in states from Maine to Illinois. The full list grows each year as more states join the program.

Three-State Compatibility Program

The three-state program covers Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina. Drivers from any of the three states can use their home tag in the other two states. Toll rates match the local rate. Statements come from the home agency.

Peach Pass Violations and Fees

Driving through a Peach Pass toll point without a valid tag or account triggers a violation. The fine depends on how many unpaid tolls pile up.

What Happens When You Drive Without a Pass

If you drive a Peach Pass lane without a tag, the system takes a photo of your license plate. SRTA sends a toll bill to the registered owner of the plate. You owe the toll plus a small admin fee if you pay within the grace period. The admin fee grows if you do not pay on time.

Video Toll Rates

Video toll rates are higher than Peach Pass rates. Drivers without a tag pay about 1.5 times the posted toll in most cases. The exact multiplier depends on the lane and time of day. This higher rate covers the cost of the photo system and billing.

How to Pay a Missed Toll

You can pay a missed toll through the Peach Pass website. Visit the “Pay Missed Toll” page. Enter your license plate number and state. The site pulls up any unpaid tolls. You pay by credit card, debit card, or bank account. The toll posts to your record within minutes.

Peach Pass Billing Statements

Peach Pass sends monthly statements to every account holder. The statement shows the tolls for that month.

Reading Your Monthly Statement

Each statement lists the date, time, lane, and toll amount for every trip. The top of the statement shows your balance, your refill history, and your next refill date. The bottom shows the total amount charged. You can also view and download statements from the online portal.

Disputing Charges

If you see a toll that does not match your trip, you can dispute the charge. Call Peach Pass customer service within 60 days of the statement date. The rep opens a case and pulls the lane photos. Most disputes resolve within 14 business days.

Payment Methods Accepted

Peach Pass accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. It also accepts debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo. Bank account payments work through ACH transfer. Cash and checks are not accepted for online accounts but may be accepted at service centers.

Peach Pass Replacement and Lost Transponder

If your Peach Pass is lost, stolen, or damaged, you need to act fast. A working tag on your account keeps your tolls at the standard rate.

Reporting a Lost or Stolen Pass

Call Peach Pass customer service the moment you notice your tag is missing. The rep deactivates the lost tag so no one else can charge it. The rep also orders a replacement. The replacement ships in five to seven business days.

Cost of a Replacement

A replacement Peach Pass sticker or hard tag costs the same as a new tag. The fee is $14.95 for a sticker or $17.95 for a hard tag. The fee posts to your account at order time. Your existing balance rolls over to the new tag.

Damaged Pass Policies

If your Peach Pass stops reading at toll points, SRTA may replace it free of charge. The damage must come from normal use, not from an accident or misuse. Call customer service with your tag number. The rep checks the read history. If the tag failed without abuse, SRTA ships a new tag at no cost.

Georgia has a growing network of toll lanes. Most of them sit in metro Atlanta.

Major Toll Roads in Georgia

The main toll lanes in Georgia today are the I-85 Express Lanes, the I-75 South Metro Express Lanes, and the I-75/I-575 Northwest Corridor Express Lanes. Each of these lanes uses Peach Pass for payment. None of them take cash.

Express Lane Locations

Future Toll Projects

SRTA plans more express lanes in the coming years. The I-285 top-end express lanes and the I-285 east-side express lanes are in planning. New Peach Pass lanes may also come to other parts of metro Atlanta. Peach Pass will be the payment method for all of them.

Peach Pass Commuter Discounts and HOV Mode

Peach Pass offers special savings for commuters. The savings come through HOV mode on the hard tag.

How Carpool Discounts Work

If you carpool with three or more people in your car, you can ride free in the Peach Pass lane. You must have a hard tag with the HOV switch. Flip the switch before you enter the lane. A light confirms the HOV mode. The toll does not post when the light is on.

HOV Switch Instructions

Each Peach Pass hard tag has a small switch on the side. Slide the switch to the right to turn on HOV mode. The tag light turns red. Slide the switch back to the left to turn off HOV mode. The tag light turns green. The state may check the number of riders in your car at any time.

Peach Pass NC GA Compatibility

Drivers who cross between North Carolina and Georgia often ask about tag compatibility. The answer is simple.

Crossing Between Georgia and North Carolina

Peach Pass works on North Carolina express lanes. NC Quick Pass works on Georgia express lanes. Drivers do not need a second tag. The tolls post to your home account at the local rate.

Which Pass Works on Both Sides

Both Peach Pass and NC Quick Pass work on both sides. The three-state program makes one tag enough for travel across Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina toll roads.

Peach Pass Monthly Fee Comparison With Other Toll Tags

Frequently Asked Questions About EZPass Georgia and Peach Pass

This FAQ section answers the most common questions drivers ask about Peach Pass in Georgia. Each answer gives clear, direct facts. Use these answers to make smart choices about your toll account. The questions cover tag costs, sign-up steps, EZPass interoperability, discount programs, violation rules, and account management. Read every answer to get the full picture before you open your account or drive a Peach Pass lane for the first time.

Can I Use My EZPass on Georgia Toll Roads?

Yes, most EZPass tags work on Georgia express lanes. EZPass joined the same multi-state interoperability program as Peach Pass. When you drive a Georgia express lane with your EZPass, the toll posts to your EZPass account at the Georgia rate. No extra setup is needed for most EZPass customers. You do not need a Peach Pass account if you carry an EZPass from a partner state. The toll rate you pay matches the Peach Pass rate. Some private toll roads in Georgia do not accept EZPass, but every Peach Pass-issued lane does. Drivers from states outside the EZPass network may need to open a Peach Pass account before driving Georgia express lanes. Check the EZPass website or your home agency for the latest list of partner states before you travel.

How Much Does a Peach Pass Cost in 2026?

Peach Pass costs in 2026 include a one-time tag fee and a $20.00 opening balance. The sticker tag costs $14.95. The hard tag costs $17.95. The bumper-mounted tag for trucks costs a bit more. Your opening balance stays in your account as a balance for tolls. There is no monthly fee for standard Peach Pass accounts. There is no annual renewal fee. The only ongoing cost is the tolls you drive through. If your balance drops below $10.00, Peach Pass charges your saved payment method to refill the account. The minimum refill amount is $20.00. You can raise the refill amount at any time through the online portal or by calling customer service. The tag itself never expires under normal use.

What Happens If I Drive a Peach Pass Lane Without a Tag?

Driving a Peach Pass lane without a working tag leads to a video toll. A camera takes a picture of your license plate. SRTA mails a toll bill to the plate’s registered owner. The bill includes the toll amount plus an admin fee. The admin fee grows if you do not pay within the grace period. The grace period runs 30 days from the bill date. Paying late raises the fee by $25.00 or more. Driving without a tag twice in the same month may add more fees. The fastest way to clear a video toll is to open a Peach Pass account and pay the toll through the “Pay Missed Toll” page. The system credits the toll to your new account. Driving without a tag and never paying leads to a registration hold on your vehicle through the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Is Peach Pass Cheaper Than EZPass?

Peach Pass and EZPass have similar cost structures. Both systems charge a tag fee and a minimum balance. Both systems have no monthly fee for personal accounts in most states. The tag fees vary by state. EZPass tag fees range from free in some states to $30.00 in others. Peach Pass sits in the middle of that range. The bigger cost factor is where you drive. If you drive mostly in the Southeast, Peach Pass saves you from out-of-state fees. If you drive mostly in the Northeast, EZPass saves you the same way. Toll rates also vary by lane and time of day, but the rates come from the local agency no matter which tag you use. The bottom line is that the cost of the tag matters less than where you drive.

How Long Does It Take to Get My Peach Pass in the Mail?

Peach Pass tags ship within five to seven business days from the day you sign up. Online applications trigger the shipping clock right after you submit the form. Phone applications trigger shipping the same day. In-person applications give you the tag on the spot for hard tags and stickers. Mailing delays may add a day or two in rural areas. You can check the shipping status through your online account. The tracking number posts once SRTA ships the tag. If the tag has not arrived within ten business days, call customer service to report a missing shipment. SRTA will cancel the lost tag and send a replacement free of charge.

Can I Use One Peach Pass on Two Cars?

Peach Pass lets you swap a tag between two cars on the same account. The tag must be on your windshield when you drive the lane. You must update the license plate in your online account each time you swap the tag. If you leave the old plate on the tag and drive a new car, the system reads the tag but matches it to the wrong plate. This mismatch can trigger a violation. The safest plan is to buy one tag per vehicle. The cost is low enough that most drivers go this route. Each vehicle on your account can have its own sticker or hard tag. The tolls for all vehicles post to the same account balance and the same monthly statement.

Does Peach Pass Work on Florida and North Carolina Toll Roads?

Peach Pass works on Florida toll roads that accept SunPass and on North Carolina toll roads that accept NC Quick Pass. The three states run a joint program called the interoperability program. Your Peach Pass tag reads at toll points in all three states. The toll posts to your Peach Pass account at the local rate. You do not pay extra to use your Peach Pass in Florida or North Carolina. You do not need a second tag. The program also works the other way. SunPass and NC Quick Pass tags work on Peach Pass lanes in Georgia. Drivers from any of the three states can travel across the region with one home tag.
